At The Good Care Group we are committed to supporting our staff to grow and develop. We offer our central office teams the opportunity to complete further learning in a range of subject areas through the apprenticeship scheme.
Apprenticeship courses are an excellent way to study for a formal qualification whilst also working in a fulfilling role. They give learners the opportunities to develop new skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their chosen career, and offer excellent opportunities for progression.
Kaycee, Senior Regional Support Assistant, started her apprenticeship in Team leader / Supervisor at The Good Care Group in June 2019. The apprenticeship is usually 18 months long, but this was delayed due to the pandemic and Kaycee’s maternity leave.
The opportunity enabled Kaycee to develop her skills, experience and knowledge, all whilst gaining a qualification she needs to succeed in her chosen career.
Kaycee comments;
“The challenges that I faced did not stop me in achieving my apprenticeship. With the right level of support and determination I was able to complete it with distinction. I was supported the whole time by my assessor from Lifetime and my Line Manager. They were always there when I needed help.
I wouldn’t have been able to achieve this without the right support from the TGCG team, and I am thankful for the opportunity and their valuable time. To Janet Bill who encouraged me to take the apprenticeship from the beginning. To Hannah Morgan and Rosie Robarts for the guidance and support all throughout. To my lifetime assessor Stephanie Hill who is so patient and understanding. A massive thank you.
I cannot wait to see what happens next.”
Hannah Morgan, Head of Operations, comments;
“Kaycee has now been enrolled on our Management Development Programme, launching soon. This is a new pathway designed to upskill our team and provide them with exposure to elements of the Care Manager role that they may not have experienced before, including risk management, assessment of need and various HR processes. It is an excellent opportunity for Kaycee to continue to develop her leadership and management skills.”
