Couple’s Care – Mr and Mrs B

The Good Care Group has been caring for and supporting couples for over 10 years, to live in the comfort and familiarity of their own home, whilst improving their overall quality of life with high quality live-in care.

Our professional live-in carers have been caring for Mr and Mrs B since May 2021, after Mrs B was admitted to hospital with a septic foot. Initially the placement was to cover Mr B’s care whilst Mrs B recovered, as Mrs B was determined to care for her husband once she is mobile again.

However, Mrs B soon realised the value of the support her and her husband were receiving and how the professional carers were benefitting the couple’s life as a whole. Mrs B was now able to enjoy time away from the home to see her friends and Mr B was receiving high quality care. Both also enjoy their carer’s home cooked meals, including; fish pie, Sirloin steak, Ploughman’s and Pheasant breast with a garlic butter filling wrapped in bacon along with garlic roast potatoes and spring vegetables. Which all sound delicious!

Mrs B is also enjoying the support she now receives around the home, with the professional carers attending to the housekeeping.

If you would like to find out more about live-in care for yourself or your loved one, please contact our friendly Client Services team on 0808 2504 180.

There are many benefits to live-in care and some of the benefits are specific to couples care. For example, the cost of care; if a couple moves into a care home, the cost of care is typically double the price of receiving high quality, live-in care at home. With live-in care there is only one weekly fee for the care team, with a small supplement for couples care depending on needs, so it is a very cost-effective alternative to moving into a care home for couples.
