Step into Professional Care with us.

In March 2022 we launched our programme, enabling people who have gained valuable experience caring for friends and family step into a professional caring role.  Through this enhanced training, Carers take the skills and knowledge gained through caring for their loved ones and build upon this to enable them to deliver outstanding care to our clients.

Professional Carer Helen attended our programme in May 2022.  For many years she had cared for family and friends.  When a friend recommended she became a Professional Carer, Helen started her research and decided to apply to The Good Care Group.

Helen said:

“The 9 day training course was great in offering people like myself an understanding of the role as a professional Live-in Carer.”

As Helen had not worked in a professional care setting before, she attended our specially designed 9 day training programme in London.  Throughout the course our Carers stay in a 5* hotel located within a short walk from our office.  Our in-house training team guides them throughout their learning journey.  Our Trainers use a variety of techniques, including hands-on applied learning, e-learning, reflective practice, workshops and practical learning.

We want everyone who leaves our training to feel confident and equipped to deliver the very best care.

Helen shares more about her training experience

“On the first day, (Trainer) Sam was absolutely brilliant in getting us to relax and settle in. Her passion in the same role was reassuring and got us straight into the fundamentals of the professional care world. I would also like to thank your Trainer Penny; I now have a great understanding of supporting people with dementia, administering  medication and end of life care. Further, Jenny was excellent when training us in First Aid.  She really does exhibit all the qualities of The Good Care Group.

Overall, everyone in the office was friendly and made me feel part of the team. I felt valued which enhanced my well-being while training in London. Lastly, I must mention your recruiter Melanie, who contacted me about my online application, phone call and to arrange a remote interview. That was when I knew I had made the right decision!”

It is always great to receive feedback from our Professional Live-in Carers.  We want to do everything we can to support our employees, every step of the way and ensure that they enjoy a rewarding career in a professional care setting.
