Planning your Christmas Respite Care | The Good Care Group

Planning your Christmas respite care

Even though these are currently uncertain times it is really important to plan and book your Respite care at home early this year. December is a very busy time for The Good Care Group’s outstanding carers and they deliver many award winning Respite care at home services across England and Scotland during the festive period.

Christmas may be different this year, and currently none of us are sure of what the festive period is going to look like, but it is important for you or your loved one to continue to receive personal, professional and trusted care.

Are you currently the sole carer of a loved one?

Regardless of what the big day will look like, it is important to still enjoy this time. There will still be activities and meals to organise, regardless of the number of people that can attend. Wouldn’t it be easier if you knew your loved one was being cared for by a professional live-in carer, allowing you time  to prepare  for  the festive period.

Do you have plans for your loved one to travel to yours, or you to theirs this Christmas?

Whilst we are unsure whether this will happen, it is a good idea to plan your loved ones care in advance. By securing a live-in carer over the festive period, if they are unable to travel to you, you are reassured that they are being cared for and having a safe and happy Christmas.

If it transpires that you are able to travel to your loved one, what better way to relieve the stress of Christmas, than with an extra pair of hands around the home. A live-in carer can  manage your loved ones care needs, giving you more time to relax and be with the family making the day enjoyable for everyone, including you.

So whether it’s a great family affair this year, or a slightly more intimate gathering ensure your loved one receives the best possible support this Christmas by planning your respite care now.

The Good Care Group’s carers are still in high demand for respite care in the light of the coronavirus pandemic, as people continue to deal with the stresses associated with this difficult period. Our clients are in the knowledge that our live-in care is the safest possible option. We are extremely proud to report there has been no COVID-19 virus transmission between carer and client since the beginning of the pandemic
