Ninety-seven-year-old Frank had just about given up when The Good Care Group entered his life. Acknowledging that he needed support, Frank got in touch with The Good Care Group to discuss his situation.
Frank, a lover of the outdoors, had not been able to get out a lot lately. Frank had fond memories but felt he had lost his independence. However, he did not forget his love for the outdoors and wanted to explore the possibility of getting out and about. The Good Care Group were able to speak to Frank about his passions and interests. Frank was paired up with the lovely Natasha and Pawel, two of our very experienced live-in carers, who could provide Frank with the help and support he needed.
A good friendship developed between Frank and his carers, Natasha and Pawel. Frank could discuss his interests with them and they planned a day out.
With assistance from his carers, Natasha and Pawel, Frank recently took to the seas on the Wet Wheels Boat at Falmouth. Frank had a great day out, which he thoroughly enjoyed. When Frank was asked if he was happy for his photo to be shared, he said, “Yes of course, but make sure it’s my best side!”.
A boat trip on the sea is only the start. Frank is already planning to drive a steam train in Bodmin next year.
Frank’s carer Natasha, said: “He is so excited! Frank was really down before The Good Care Group took over but now he is a cheery, cheeky, and great person to care for!”
