From the first day of working with The Good Care Group our Professional Carers will be supported by a community of caring people dedicated to providing them with everything they need to perform their role to the highest standard. But our commitment to their learning and development doesn’t stop there…
We are excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Rewards Training so that our Professional Carers in Scotland can achieve an SVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care. Whilst this training is a requirement for working in care in Scotland, as part of our commitment to being a market leading employer, we’re able to offer this training fully funded by TGCG. We’ll also pay our Carers for their time to complete their training.
Our Registered Manager for Scotland Rebecca says “I am delighted that The Good Care Group Scotland have partnered with Rewards training to deliver the SVQ2 Health and Social care to our exceptional Professional live-in carers across Scotland. We have supported the enrollment of the first 6 Professional Carers into the qualification and will be on hand to support them through their journey over the next 6 months.”
The SVQ is based on standards developed by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). In Scotland, the SSSC represents a wide variety of stakeholders working in a broad range of occupations and job roles within the health and social care sectors. Any carer working in Scotland must register with the SSSC and from that date, has 5 years to complete a minimum of a level 2 SVQ in Social Care. This is a personal registration which The Good Care Group are pleased to be financially supporting all eligible Professional Carers to obtain. It’s also another great way to be able to support our Professional Carers to develop their skills and knowledge.
Daniel our Training Manager says “From a Learning and Development perspective, it’s a real pleasure to now be involved with this initiative. TGCG has always been very proud of the access to learning that we are able to offer to our Professional Carers and we’re excited to be supporting our colleagues in Scotland with their SSSC registration requirements. We are a national organisation, working throughout England and Scotland, which means we need to be flexible in supporting the requirements for our Carers working in each region of the UK. We hope that the support we are now able to offer with SVQs will enable more of our Professional Carers to take the next step on their learning journeys.“
