Butterfly Café launch
Since October 2021, Community Ambassador, Elaine Murray, has been on the steering group for a set up of The Butterfly Café driven by Dr Ruth Cairns, Consultant Psychiatrist, King’s College Hospital and Andy Wells, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Liaison Psychiatry for Older People (KCH). They all had a desire to launch a dementia café service within the King’s College Hospital Trust.
Elaine Murray was proud to be part of the advisory group and on the 8th March 2022, the Butterfly Café was launched. The café will take place on the second Tuesday of every month at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience 16 De Crespigny Park, Denmark Hill, SE5 8AF. The café will provide a friendly meeting place that brings joy, creativity and hope for people living with dementia and their carer.
Elaine and The Good Care Group wish the café every success and are committed to providing support and assistance in the future.
