Kristy Nickels - The Good Care Group

Meet Kristy Nickels

About me

I’m Kristy, Recruitment Marketing Manager at The Good Care Group. I promote The Good Care Group and Oxford Aunts as an employer and create candidate attraction delivery activities covering UK and overseas online media, PR, social media, carer engagement, targeted marketing and hiring events. I ensure we generate an appropriate number of high-quality candidates into carer and head office roles.

I have the pleasure of working closely with the Head of Resourcing and the Recruitment Marketing team, who support and help me develop my skills every day. I am surrounded by Scottish accents in the Scotland office who are some of the most hardworking people I have ever come across. I bounce off their energy! I truly believe that there is nowhere better to work. I will always find an excuse to walk anywhere! Nothing makes me happier than a bright, sunny day with a coffee in hand. Add my husband, family, friends and a dog to the mix and I’ll have the best day ever. I am a proud Auntie and fur baby mum to my house rabbit Biffy.

If I was to describe to someone what it’s like working at TGCG, I’d say it’s creative and you are always developing. The company is extremely forward thinking, innovative and experts in their field.

Working in the care industry has always been important to me. With Dementia impacting my family in the past, it feels right to work for a company that provides exceptional support to those wishing to remain at home.

Qualifications and experience

Kristy started her recruitment career in 2006 working for another live-in care company as a Recruitment Manager, which is where she gained her NVQ 2 and 3 in Business Administration. She also studied Health and Social Care during her A Levels. Six years ago, she moved to Scotland and joined TGCG as a recruiter. She became fascinated with TGCG’s employer brand and managed to secure a role as a Recruitment Marketing Assistant. Fast forward to 2022 where she became Recruitment Marketing Manager.
