At The Good Care Group, we believe that great care starts with great people, and we are excited to find passionate individuals who want to make a difference.
Lowri joined TGCG six years ago, continuing her resourcing career as a live-in carer recruiter. When we expanded into hourly care, she also began recruiting for domiciliary care assistants. Lowri has been instrumental in growing our hourly team, from recruiting our very first carer to building a team of over 30 carers. If there’s one person who can offer valuable advice for your next role as an hourly carer, it’s definitely her!
Tell us about yourself, Lowri?
“I have been working for TGCG for 6 years. I have been working in health care recruitment for 10 years now. I have previously recruited for Oxford Aunts, our sister company and also supported Cherished Home Care recruitment. However my main focus is finding top talent for the TGCG hourly team!”
What attracted you to TGCG?
“I was really attracted to TGCG because of our great values and impressive CQC ratings. Plus, my previous manager, who I worked with at one of our competitors, moved over to TGCG and recommended it to me. That personal recommendation made my decision to join even easier!”
Besides specific job requirements, what qualities do you look for when speaking to carers?
“I’m always on the lookout for candidates whose values align with those of TGCG, as this is really important to me. Someone who shows empathy throughout the interview process when discussing previous clients or experiences, or how they speak about their previous job roles and companies. Building a positive and supportive environment starts with hiring people who are passionate about making a difference and committed to upholding our standards.”
What is your top tip for candidates applying to work at The Good Care Group?
“Being presentable and prepared is really important. It sets a positive tone and demonstrates professionalism.”
What sets TGCG apart from other companies?
“For our hourly roles, the guaranteed hours contracts and paid travel time are great benefits. You’ll get a minimum pay every week, no matter how many calls you have. Unlike a lot of companies that use zero-hour contracts, which can be really hit or miss, we offer more stability. Plus, since you get paid for travel time between clients, you won’t need to work as many hours to earn the same pay as you would at other companies, there’s really nowhere better!”
If you have already worked as a domiciliary carer, health care assistant, a carer in a care home or hospital, then Lowri would love to speak with you about joining our team, call her on 0203 728 7570 or our hourly care job application can be completed in a few easy steps.
